I am a principal computer security researcher at Trail of Bits, leading the Advanced Concepts group. I develop open-source tools to help make software safer. See my projects for more details.

Social Impact

I have been working with researchers at the University of Pennsylvania for the past few years, helping to develop tools to assist children and youth on the Autism spectrum with emotion regulation as well as coping with suicidal ideation. See digitalmentalhealth.org for more information.

Writing

In 2023, I began writing a novel, the first draft of which I completed in late 2024. It is a postmodern maximalist systems novel of about 100,000 words, taking place in the year leading up to the 2008 financial crisis. At its heart, it is a novel about the anxiety of preservation: How do you create something that will outlast its creator without changing? I have spent the last year seeking literary representation as well as preparing it for submission to various literary prizes.
